Quick note:

"The ability to compete consists in doing better than your rivals in terms of sales, market share, profitability and other marketing tools, such as judicious use of space combat."

"Good day, gentlemen. I assume you are well aware of your mission?" asked a really creepy voice, yet slimy in a very charming way. Why is he always asking that, Rusty wondered, while formulating the quick and professional reply.
"Yes, Sir. We have studied the reports on Beta 139 quite thoroughly. We know what to do." he answered, hearing someone chuckle almost unaudibly. It seemed that Hash was not a big fan of this kind of briefings himself. Hopefully, there won't be trouble this time.
"Any questions, Mister Light?"
"None whatsoever," Hash handled himself quite well this time, much to his own surprise.
"Very well. We're leaving in 20 minutes."
As the VIP's suitcase disappeared from view through the shuttle door, they looked at each other for a moment.
"This is gonna be boring," Hash commented. "A little assassination attempt could make everything a hell of a lot easier."
"You expect too much of a fun from the regular escort mission. Come on, time to fly!" he ordered and patted his friend's back.
The only problem was, they had no idea about a curious turn of events which will be more than a little surprising for them.

PLAYER CHARACTER

FIRST NAME : RUSSEL
LAST NAME : TANTON
CALLSIGN : RUSTY
AGE : 31

POSITION : PILOT
EXPERIENCE : 8 YEARS
REPUTATION : LOYAL
BACKGROUND :
As a child, Mr.Tanton has always wanted to be a fighter pilot. His physical skills such as surprising strength and quick reflexes were noticed during the first few months of his time at the Earthforce Academy. However, despite his outstanding record, he was expelled from the Academy after failing the basic flight test. Later, it has been proven that Mr.Tanton failed this test because his spacecraft has been sabotaged by one of the envious cadets. In fact, Mr.Tanton has actually saved the spacecraft, avoiding a major disaster with great risk to his own life. Refer to "Rusty'n'Dusty incident" for more details.
Two years later, having started his career at Doublestar under the guidance of Chief Pilot Brock, he flew under his command for several years before a routine mission ended the Brock's life. This incident has also showed his strong sense of justice. When Julle Light, one of the corporate pilots, was accused of Chief Brock's death, Mr.Tanton stood at his side until he was rightly cleared of all charges and returned to flight status. After that incident, Mr.Tanton took control of the escort squadron and has been leading them ever since. Also, he has established strong friendship with Mr.Light. Together, they have become the most effective escort unit of Doublestar pilot corps.
